Citi Forward Question

Hi - I have a Citi Forward card (but not with the 5x for Book Stores - I receive 1 TY point for every $1 spent) and I wanted to convert this card to the Dividend, but Citi will not allow any conversions right now from this card.  I have since applied for the CSP and Arrival, and am using these cards exclusively, and have the Discover IT and BOA Cash Rewards.  I thought the Dividend might be nice to have around to cover other categories.  Should I just keep the Forward in my drawer and see what happens in the future regarding conversions (I've had the card for 10 years)?  Should I apply for the Dividend at this point or another Citi card?

Some of Citi's products may have PC restrictions from time to time but you can always request for an account manager after speaking to a CSR.  IIRC, other Citi products can't be PC'd to Forward but there's been a few cases where folks have moved from Forward to Citi DP but every situation is reviewed on a case by case basis.  Worse case scenario you can try contacting the EO to see if they have some flexibility with the PC.  But, I wouldn't close it just yet.  Besides the Dividend, have you considered the TYP or any others?

Re: Citi Forward Question

Long shot! Would Citi add the 5x benefits to your Citi Forward Visa Card? A thought!

Re: Citi Forward Question

Thanks for the reply!  I spoke to a CSR, Retentions, as well as the "Presidential Center," and they all said the samething.  The "Presidential Center" told me to keep checking because they stop PC from time to time, so maybe at some point they will allow it again.  I was looking at the TYP or an AA card, but didn't know if I should apply now or wait.  Just got the CSP and Discover IT over the last two months.

Re: Citi Forward Question

I asked, but they said the 5x hasn't existed for a long time.  I would have loved that.  Spend a lot on Amazon!

At some point, apply for the Sallie Mae, that has 5% on up to $750 a month on bookstores including Amazon.  Easier to get than alternatives such as Cash Plus
