Citi Forward denial :(

I just could not control myself a bit ago and now I'm bummed out. I posted earlier that I tried for the bp gas card from Chase and more than likely got denied....so I tried for the shell card from citi and got instantly approved for 600.00. I got so excited and felt big and bad for some reason (lol) so I applied for the citi forward card and got shot down.....I called cause it was pending and they said I just opened the shell one today and that I have a few new accounts and to pay those good and call back in 3 months. It's all good cause I didn't need it anyways but it bothers me that I gave in to the temptation so easily.....I have ahold of myself now and I am in the garden no matter what. It just feels so good to get approved after being told no for so long.....know what I mean??

Might be good to freeze your reports, less temptation.
Congrats on your shell card!

Thanks.....I won't have to do anything that drastic....I had a moment of weakness and now I feel crappy and disappointed at myself so I have learned my lesson. Smiley Happy

Re: Citi Forward denial :(

Citi Forward is the card I need to get now b/c they've denied me 3 times. LMAO. 4th a charm maybe? I'll wait until my UTL is down and a few more months before trying again.

As of 2017, rebuilding...

I also gave into temptation yet again or the 2nd time around. Last year I got denied for this card due to lack of credit history. This year I applied for the Citi Forward again and got shot down for a different reason "too many inquires on my credit report" "too many new accounts opened in the last 6 months" I think ill back off and garden for a while as my new inquires cool off.

I'm definitely going to wait longer than the 3 months she said. I need to be in the garden for a while. All my cards have been opened within a month and there are a few extra inquiries from apps that were denied. I got bummed out about getting denied and then I saw posts yesterday about people getting cards taken away from opening too much at one time so I may never want to leave the garden again....lol

Re: Citi Forward denial :(

Research and patience are key.  Each new inquiry and new account can not only add to a denial but also a denial of credit increases.   When in the rebuilding stage, cli are key to getting out of the toy limits.  A bunch of low limit cards will never feel as good as good limit primes.

OP, I know what you mean. I apped for Discover More yesterday and hit submit. After a moment it asked me to upload a utility bill and the next screen said Congrats. Now I feel like apping for more but I won't.
