I applied for the Citi Aadvantage Amex card on Monday, and I got the dreaded 7-10 day message. I called today to get an update on the application only to find out that there is some "special instruction" that I am suppose to know on my equifax file. In any case, since I didn't know the supposed instructions they cancelled my application and advvised me to reapply again! Did I just waste an inquiry or can I do something about this?
Thanks FICOers.

Do you have a freeze on your EQ report? That's the only thing I can think of that requires "special instruction" which means the freeze need to be lifted.
No - I don't!!!!
Can I dispute the inquiry now?
Having applied to Citi for credit means you probably cannot dispute the hard pull. More important though is to know what Citi is referring to. Suppose it is a fraud alert notice?
Yes - I think it's a fraud alert notice.
What should I do now?
I insisted on talking to a supervisor. She went ahead and reinstated my application. Approved for 10k!
Now, I just need to control myself and stop apping!!!!!!!! It's so hard when I really have my eye on the Amex Blue Cash Everyday.
