Citi PC Question

So Citi approved my request to PC my Dividend from Visa to MC, which I am excited and asked for to have a MC w/ a EMV chip for when I go to europe in about a month. It is solely a backup card, as parts of Spain I am travelling in/through I have been told by a MSU abroad counselor is predominantly MC (probably would be fine with CSP, but I'd rather be prepared then stranded).

Real question is this: I logged online today to look at my statement that cut, and it shows the new account, along with when I activate the new card, the visa account is going to close. Is this going to count as a brand new account on my CR?! Seems a little rediculous...the CSR had told me nothing else changes (which could mean A LOT of different things), and I'd rather not have a new account open for a PC..... does anyone have any experience with this? Re: Citi PC Question

Fairly certain you will keep the same history. That's what Citi said to me when I asked them. I havent PC'ed yet though because I'm not eligible.

Re: Citi PC Question

OK I just did a PC from Dividend to Hilton HH Reserve in April.  I just logged into EX and is shows the new account in place of the old account.  They removed the Div altogether and replaced with new account now active.  I was given a new account number because I moved from Visa to Visa Signature.  You will prob have a new acct number moving from Visa to MC as they dont start with he same numbers.

You should be good.  Just hit the unlink this account on the old one when it comes in and it will show just the new card.

You should be fine.
