Easier to get approved with Citi than it is with Discover, AMEX and Chase.
After not having any credit of my own for about 8 years and all my bad accounts fell from my reports, I received a preapproved offer for the Plat. Select MC. It was a instant approval for $8.7K, now $10K. This was 8 months ago.
Well i fell for the bait and applied. I got the dredded "We have received your application and further processing is required at this time. We will contact you within a week via email regarding our decision". Oh well guess NFCU will remain as my only prime card. No more apping for atleast 6 months.
Don't give up yet. They probably just want to know a bit more about you such as verification. Good luck.
Yeah I guess your right. Atleast it wasn't an instant denial lol. I'll report back when I find out the results.
I got approved for Platinum Select and DP Rewards in October after paying a Crap1 CO in May, so they seem fairly forgiving.
Wish I'd seen this post a wee bit earlier because I received the same offer in the mail today (guess it was their mass-mailing week), but everyone knows what I do with mail offers...
(singing) You put the Offer IN, you take the Offer OUT, you put the Offer IN and you "SHRED" it all about...
They approved me back in march for there Citi Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard.. $500 starting limit with 12.99%, not a great starting limit but I had lot of hard inq on my report.. and a unpaid medical baddie from 05. I was instant approved online. I'm just going to PIF each month and every 6 months request a CLI.

Don't worry. You will be getting plenty more. They didn't leave me alone untill I accepted after about 2 months of me trying to gather enouph courage to pull the trigger. I figured I would be good for a $500 CL IF I was approved. Needless to say, I was quite shocked when they gave me a $8.7K starting CL.
Now they are sending my wife offers every week, sometimes twice a week, for every card they have. I have a desk drawer full that needs to be shredded. She doesn't need or want any more credit.
