Citi Prestige EO question.

Alright, so I applied for the Citi Prestige and was denied due to having too many Inquiries in the last 12 months (I believe like 10 INQ) and as a result too many new accounts in the last 12 months. I contacted what I thought was recon dept (This is the # I called 1 (800) 695-5171) but not even recon can override.

I have heard some success with EO. Should I attempt to recon with EO? If so, what would be the best approach?

Thank you all

Did the recon department deny you for the same reasons? I know Citi is inquiry sensitive.

Yes they did. They didn't even give me an opportunity to explain all the inquiries and new accounts.

Re: Citi Prestige EO question.

I have successfully recon'd with Citi last year in December. I was declined for having too many accounts with balances. I had to write a letter and mail it to their Dakota address with a copy of my W2. At the bottom of the letter, I specifically mentioned that if this recon involves another HP, I would like to cancel this recon request.

45 days later I got an email Congratulating :-)

That's awesome IBM. I would like to even get a chance to explain my case. I saw a different recon number online and I will attempt to call it in a little while.

Call and if that doesn't work then write a letter.

It took them 45 days to respond to your letter? ouch, I would have too much anxiety waiting

I don't think EO can save me on this one.
