You can't miss what you never had meaning I don't know what it's like to have more than six cards at a time so I don't have to worry about "going back" but since you are already way past 6 cards, lol, I can see why it would be hard to downsize that much. For me, I know I can actively use 5-6 cards interchangeably and be fine. I don't do the sock drawer thing which is why I chose six.
On the other hand, I think I do have a problem with debit cards I have way too many checking accounts, hmmm...

No more than 6 cards? Dear God at this stage in the game I don't think I could it go back to any less than 6 cards: I would not even want to have fewer than 6 debit cards!
The marginal utility of a BCE when you have a PRG must be pretty low. Or maybe you plan to drop PRG.
I keep my BCE for history and the occasional offer, but if I had a self-imposed limit it would be an ideal choice for closure.
Maybe close the Diamond Preferred after any promotion you're using it for.
Thanks for the advice but I'm good with what I got

I didn't see anything about the decreased benefits (traveling and purchase protections) until after I asked for the conversion.
With that said, last night I really thought about my current credit card portfolio and I may make some sweeping adjustments to it.
I called the number on the back of my Prestige card last night (of course someone from India answered it, even though this is supposed to be a premium card). I requested to cancel my conversion and revert back to the ThankYou Premier, and then asked him if I could convert to the Citi Double Cash or one of the AAdvantage cards (he said yes, but only after the conversion cancellation processes in five days).
I currently have the USAA Limitless (2.5% cash back) but will be looking into dropping USAA altogether as I'm not very happy with them at the moment... So the Double Cash may be a card I'm interested in. I don't really travel overseas much, it's basically 2% back with no AF, and I don't have to worry about depositing $1,000 in one lump sum into a Citi checking account (so it's more simple than the Limitless), and it includes price rewind and trip cancellation/interruption protection (one of the main reasons I keep Citi cards around).
My AT&T card is about to be a year old (on 6/2) so I may convert that to one of the AAdvantage cards (just not sure which one yet), since the TY earnings on that card will be pointless at that point. If I convert to AAdvantage, my Delta card will be going away.

Why would you give up 2.5% back because you aren't happy with USAA...what did USAA did to you that's so bad...I'm confused..it's a bank, what could they really do? I've been a USAA customer for 20 years..I PIF each month, I'm neither happy nor mad..it's business...make a charge, pay the bill, what's more to it?

Block me from moving money around because someone else bounced an ACH to me.
An extra 0.5% isn't that important. I can live with 2% and a card that provides me numerous flight perks.

With that said, last night I really thought about my current credit card portfolio and I may make some sweeping adjustments to it. You make sweeping adjustments to your lineup every few months. If you want the miles for major first/business flight redemptions, you should do one of two things:
1. Strategic bonus hunting with planned closures.
2. Have a few redemption options in mind, form a plan around them using just a few cards, and stick to the plan.
I called the number on the back of my Prestige card last night (of course someone from India answered it, even though this is supposed to be a premium card). Weird. Across two years' of calls to the Prestige line (benefit queries, concierge, retention, CLIs) I've never gotten a foreign CS rep. I requested to cancel my conversion and revert back to the ThankYou Premier, and then asked him if I could convert to the Citi Double Cash or one of the AAdvantage cards (he said yes, but only after the conversion cancellation processes in five days).

But no delay protection, and cancellation protection will have a very low $1,500 per-trip cap.
