No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I want in with Citi simply because I want to have a card with each of the major issuers (dumb reason I know) but no ones perfect.

Not dumb. it is good to diversify your credit portfolio just like how you wouldn't like to have a all your eggs in one basket.

That would be an AU account. Haven't app'd yet.

Then you need also get BoA, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Diners, NFCU, HSBC, Ally, Capital One, PNC...
Nixon will show you the way.
Simplicity is basically a balance transfer card and I think it will not PC to anything else. Personally I would not recommend it just for the sake of diversification. Citi's product offerings are still pretty weak in general IMO.

BoA, if they have something you like.
Wells Fargo, don't bother unless you have a credit file capable of supporting their best card (Propel AMEX)
US Bank.....*Sigh* I don't even know what to say about them.
Diners....IF and WHEN they open apps back up..
NFCU, Must qualify for membership of course which is strictly monitored.
HSBC, What exactly do they offer that's any good now?
Ally, They offer CC's?
Cap One, Only apply prime with them. ONLY.
PNC, Not worth the HP. Seriously.

The above mentioned may be true. BUT I STILL WANT A CITI CARD.
