can the points be redeemed as cashback for this card at 1cpp?

Yes, but why?

just in case if i plan a trip and it doesn't work out, so i'd just take the cash lol

If the trip doesn’t work out, you can always reschedule and get your points back. You don’t have to redeem them for cash back, since that would be a terrible redemption rate.

Wouldn't you just travel later?  If you're really anxious about it, you can open one of their cashback cards (Custom Cash or Double Cash) and combine the points accounts.

Overrated card in it's current form.  Premier is the best bang for the buck so far, even with AF.

Why would I pay this AF, when I can acquire 5-6 credit welcome bonuses for the same amount in AF or less, to acquire "THOUSANDS in real value" more than this one simple card with suggested value?    I can acquire a number of hotel cards, along with round trip airfare cards, for the same or less.    Even the daily driver, depending on which one I want to use, is earning more in point value.

Premier = $600 cash value

Elite = $800 cash value

Even with the transfer partners, at that AF fee, it's not worth it.  Premier is.  But neither card is a daily driver beyond the welcome bonus.  And that's the point.  Overrated.

$XXX,XXX in credit lines.
Multiple months in free credit reward vacations.
$X,XXX in bank rewards in only 12 months.

I have to disagree about Premier being a daily driver, it can very well be if your plan is to transfer to AA.

BTW, churning is pretty much dead now, it's not like it was before.

I walked in, looked around, and suddenly started feeling nauseous. I had to call my watch dealer to schedule an appointment and see if he had any new Richard Mille pieces. After that, I contacted my friend—the concierge’s doctor—to prescribe something for the nausea.

Cashback for the Premier is scheduled to be nerfed starting 8/24/25 with new valuation set at 0.75 cpp,  barring governance from Citi stating otherwise I'd expect the same to be true for the Elite.

I don't think too many people would be pulling out a  Citi-issued card to pay for a Richard Mille piece...AMEX Centurion maybe.

I'm good with my apple watch.

But we do see a concierge physician practice for the past few years, one of our best decisions and well worth it.
