The other day Citi sent me some BT checks for my old TYP card. I noticed after the 0% period the APR listed was 21.9%. So I called and asked if they could consider a reduction. He said when I requested one last year it was only effective for 12 months at 17.9%. So after May 15, 2015 I need to request again and explicitly state PERMANENT reduction. Ugh these people....
Did you request it with a regular CSR or Account Manager? Maybe this might be worth a call to EO, if worth it? I haven't used my TYP AMEX in a while and in checking some things the other day they offered to lower it (I think it's 11.74% now?) So, I know it can be done.
seriosuly CALL and ask for a supervisor. be nice. tell them and youve been a very great client.
Good luck, and im sorry that it hasnt worked out yet.

Ok I'll admit I have that ME TOO attitude and I'm really not entitled to anything Thanks for the encouragement and they did respond and gave me an 800 number to dial. I'll try on my way home from work. If I call now my coworkers will start talking.

So today I tried the SM approach. They responded in 10 minutes "at this time your account is not eligible for APR reduction, but we encourage you to make the minimum payment on time". REALLY?!?! 3 year old account, never over the limit, never late and its ineligible while people with BRAND NEW account are getting 10% reductions?!?! What the he!!
It's these types of CS horror stories that kept me from going with DC and choosing CF instead when I couldn't decide on which to get.

Not to mention CF is easier to get on average...

I'm sorry to hear that Citi has been acting funny with me too! I also have a TYP card and tried to get an APR reduction a few days ago over chat since others were having a lot of luck doing so. Got the same ineligible account BS. I've been with Citi since 2008 - sure doesn't feel like it though.

YIKES!!! This is not goow news.
They seem a bit off IMO if they're not reducing your APR, B335. From what I gather on here you have a strong profile.
