Citi cards CLI screen question?

I've never requested a CLI on my Citi DC card, but now that my account is over 6 months old it's something I'm ready to do.  Please see the attached image, which is what I see when I go under Account Management -->  Services -->  Credit Line Increase.

I have not entered anything into these fields yet and clicked continue.  My question for those that have done through this before is what do I see on the following screen?  Is there something that will let me know if the request will be a SP or require a HP?  If the "Total Requested Credit Limit" is too high, is that when I'm prompted that it will be a HP?

From what I've read on this forum, the way to go is to take a SP CLI first for whatever you can get, then if you want more request more and take the HP.  I'm just not clear on how to obtain a SP CLI prior to taking a HP CLI when I'm at this stage.  Thanks everyone!citi.jpg

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

If you enter the info it will be a HP. When the time is right it will say no credit bureau check is required. Then it will be a SP.

Not sure about this card, but for my Citi Costco, it's always a SP.  Based on what i read on your screen, it looks like it will be a HP because of this line: Our credit department will notify you of our decision or let you know if we need more info.

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

It will state it's a SP. My newest Citi card displays the same HP language. The DC shows the SP language.

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

Adding to the info.

If you use a HP, many get a good increase in CL.,

Once you get a CL increase (hard or soft), a 6-month clock starts

and even if a SP page shows up, you need to wait 6 months from last increase.

The SP increases are usually small to med-small.

The page I posted above shows SP language however 6 months have

not passed and I would not be successful at getting an increase at this time.

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

Good info guys, thanks for the replies.  Is there a different way to possibly get to the SP screen other than the HP screen that I'm seeing?  I find it hard to believe that my account wouldn't be eligible for a SP CLI since it's > 6 months old and I've been putting about $4k/cycle through the card and paying in full.  If I'm not able to get a SP CLI first, it makes me a bit uneasy about requesting a HP CLI.  Perhaps I'm overlooking something here since I'm very new to Citi?

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

I believe my account was 12-13 months old before I saw a SP page.

Maybe others can share time frame data points. I waited for SP and

have never requested a HP from Citi. The increases were 1600--1800

each and it has taken time to get it to a reasonable amount.

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

So the SP CLI page is accessed the same exact way as the HP CLI page then.  So, it seems I'm not eligible for a SP CLI yet.  I find that very odd honestly considering my spend/pay pattern.

Re: Citi cards CLI screen question?

I got my citi dc in Jan 17 and everytime I have looked at the cli page it has been a sp for me. I got my first cli at 3 months and then 6 months after that.
