Citi recon question

I got denied for a citi card the Platnium Select for an unpaid account with a large balance. This is a collection that I have been disputing for over a year. Thing is I got approved for 2 citi cards in the last 3 months, one being a gas card. any suggestions on how to do a reconn? The collection is the same one i just filed complaints with at the bbb and ftc. you think my reference to this can help?

They gave me exact same reason when I called back door for recon. An account reporting status as late when it is in fact a CO.

Currently under dispute they said will not approve with the dispute in progress. Was told to app again in 60 days after it is resolved.

They may tell you the same thing but you never know until you ask. You have already been denied so nothing lost by calling them up and asking for recon.

which # did u call. I keep getting people reading from scripts who i barely understand. I just want some clarity. TIA

I forget if I was transferred initially or first person I spoke with. Probably a transfer to proper dept. for recon.

Call mutliple times if you have to. I called 3 times before I was finally approved for my chase.
