Citibank CC

Is Citibank difficult to get a credit card with or easy?

I ask because for the past 2 months I've received pre-selected mailings to apply from every card they have (thank you, simplicity, diamond preferred, thank you preferred).

Sounds like citi wants you bad

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

+1

Looks like they have surrounded you with a bit of credit lust.  Citi can be hit or miss sometimes.

However, if you have a fairly good income, decent credit profile/score, very few inquiries and no recent negative information then the only way to find out is when you apply.  They are well known for generous credit lines from the get go.  I currently have 3 of their cards, each with CL's around or above $10K.  My most recent Citi product was their AAdvantage AMEX in Oct 2012 ($9.1K).

You're going to need a clean report and minimal inquires to be approved.

Re: Citibank CC

I'm looking at their website and I don't know which card I should app for. I like the 0% apr for 12-18 months but past that, I just don't know. A balance transfer would be nice but I'm not sure I would really utilize it since my highest balance is $400 and I'm paying that off in a week haha

Re: Citibank CC

w/o knowing your profile sounds like you need a rewards card IMO

Re: Citibank CC

I have an Amex gold, BofA 123, chase CSP and chase CS. I do like rewards cards and cash back cards the most. I like my money to work for me.

Re: Citibank CC

My DD has been inundated with Citi mailers for the last 2 mos ( first Diamond Preferred now TY). Her credit scores are 699-730 but she's afraid to apply because of her recent inq's (2 new Cap 1 cards in Nov).

She's going to wait for her new cards to grow at least 6 mos.

They're not necessarily hard to get but you need to be clean of recent baddies and INQ's. Positive history for a year or so on current CC's helps alot also.
