Close accounts

Looking to close some of my accounts that have no point keeping and you can only use at one store.

Dillards Store Card $5.000; Don't use it anymore.

Sams Store Card $8.000; No point no rewards and now that you can use any CC what is the point.

Amazon.com Store Card $10.000; I have the Amazon Visa at 3% and Discover has 6m of Amazon.com at 5%.

Bealls Florida Store Card $2.000; Don't use it they don't have very good stuff anymore.

This won't affect me much and I do have account that have good limits and card that will be better used. Tell me what you think.

Re: Close accounts

Looking at your siggy it appears you will have plenty of credit left to not hurt your avail credit, and I assume you keep your uti low also. So no harm in closing these, They will still report you + history for 10 years.

Re: Close accounts

If you don't need them, then by all means close them. There is something to be said for simplifying ones portfolio of cards. Clear out the junk and focus on the good cards.

Re: Close accounts

Always good to close what you don't need.

If it were me, I would close the Chase Amazon rather than the store card, if you are Prime and spend enough on Amazon, but you know your spend!

Agree. My Amazon store card was on the chopping block before the rewards boost was rolled out.

I agree, but actually, I would first move the credit limit of the Chase Amazon over to the Chase Freedom, then close the Chase Amazon intead of the Amazon Prime Store card.

Re: Close accounts

I'm with everyone else. Close them if not needed, especially when you're profile and personal situation will not suffer from it.
