You don't have to close it to get another one. Yes, apply for another card that will better serve your needs. Do you have income?

Yes
and I have a:
Amex ED $6,300
Amex BCE $1,000
Discover It $5,500
If you have a zero balance and don't use it, I'd just throw it in the sock drawer. Having it at 0 isn't hurting you I don't believe. Plus the line of credit being available helps your utilization percentage as well. And closing it since it was your first could actually hurt yout average age of accounts. So me personally I don't see an upside.
So your question isn't really about replacing it, it's just closing it?
Okay, so what's your next oldest card?

The other lines are much higher, so this little $600 isn't helping much.
If the card is closed it will continue to report the positive history for 10 years so there will be no damage by closing it.
There is also no harm in leacing it in the SD, but it is one more account to monitor and one more potential for fraudulent activity, so some people prefer to close them. SD or close, neither would be wrong.
I'd keep it at least until you have its successor. None of your other cards are Mastercards or Visas. It may be useful in a pinch.
