Combining Cap1 Cards

I'm considering combining my Plat VISA with my QS1 MC for a combined limit of $3200 but I'm not sure which card to close, and which one to add the limit to. The Plat VISA is my oldest card by far but has no rewards and isn't eligible for any either. And with the QS1, I get the standard 1.5% back. They get used occasionally to keep the accounts open, but the odd number limits and carrying both cards is bothersome and I don't need both. Any advice on what to do, whether I should combine and how I should combine or if I should just leave them as is.

Re: Combining Cap1 Cards

Have you asked capital one chat for a product change on the platinum? I got mine upgraded to a QS1. Then you can combine into that one and keep the age.

Re: Combining Cap1 Cards

Well, you were right. Even though no upgrade was listed, I had a direct chat with a customer service rep and they upgraded my Plat VISA to a Quicksilver, not even just a Quicksilver1, so no more AF for me. So I went ahead and combined them to get a $3200 Quicksilver with a lower APR than my QS1 had. Thanks for the advice.
