if your trying for a house in a year.. you really want to wind down any new credit apps or drastic changes sooner not later... even if you might get a teeny blip due to utilization.. youll get it back with a new card... you dont want to have to hold that credit one untill you close next year do you?

Yeah, your right. So then I will wait for my updated reports for this current combine on these 2 cards, then I will come up with a game plan of either getting the Savor or Citi Rewards.
Thank YOU! I just really didn't know how the combination from my larger credit card to the smaller one would effect my credit, but i think it is truly up to the credit gods! If no change, good for me, if it is a tiny bump, even better!

And if I remember correctly, they have a 9/24 rule. Combining doesn't count as an app because you're reallocating to an existing card. It would be counted as a CLI.
I kinda was thinking that! I was reading that doctor of credit dude and it was saying you could only have 2, and I was like, wait, what??

Unfortunately, a lot of credit blogs that are top hits on Google, are out of date. The credit world changes quickly. You have to check dates and multiple sources. If all else fails, ask in a forum like this one.
