Just received the notice below. On the upside, it appears accounts will be transitioning to the Comenity Mastercard which is better than having the account closed.
As part of the transition, they're also offering $100 cashback when spending $500.00 (or more) from 10/5/21 through 1/3/22.
3% unlimited cashback on eligible travel purchases and at gas stations, also during the same timeframe.
1.5% cashback everywhere else Mastercard is accepted.
Certainly better then another co-branded card biting the dust or transferring to another lender. Nerf in rewards?
It's interesting that you'll be able to use the old card through October 3, yet the new one won't work until October 5. 🤔
I guess if an Orbitz cardholder has needs to make a purchase on October 4 they'll be using a different card!
Is Comenity going to have any co-branded cards left? Seems like there have been so many that have moved away from them

As far as nerfing, it depends how much people valued their Orbucks when it comes to redeeming for travel or properties. Without the Orbitz card, then it's probably not as optimal. On the upside, Orbucks can still be earned through 10/3 + they don't expire for 12 months, so I will likely just cash mine in sooner than later. Plus, anyone with Orbitz Platinum status gets to keep it until March 2023.
Once it transitions to Comenity MC, there's FTFs; whereas there were no FTFs with the Orbitz Visa.

Whichever card you have available I can use on the 4th @UncleB 😂

They still do, but not quite as many as they used to. They still have V/MC partnerships with IKEA, DSW, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cost Plus/World Market, Sportsmans Guide, Petco, Caesars Rewards, BJs Wholesale, and a plethora of others. That said, they have certainly discontinued several such as Mayfair (acquired by Citi Retail), Williams Sonoma (recently acquired by Capital One), True Value Discover (defunct), Blispay (silent)...

I got you covered!
Thank you for sharing the update. Definitely will be waiting for my letter.
Will the transition be considered a new cl? Do not want to take 5/24 spot. Thx all.
