With that many I inquiries you may end up finding yourself on Comenitys radar. Will you receive any AA? Who knows, but these types of threads are for the benefit of others to see what's possible. Just because something hasn't happened, doesn't mean it won't. Just keep a close eye on your comenity accounts, they've been weird to more than enough people lately to just be isolated coincidences.
Understood. Thank you for the heads up.
I do appreciate the info. I am still working on my credit and I have:
Capital One Quick Silver MC: CL 5000
Capital One Platinum: CL 2400
Capital One Platinum: 2200
BarClay Rewards 1500
Blue Nile: 1500
Sports Authority: 500
Marathon: 500
Walmart: 1300
Chevron/Texaco: 300
Belk: 500
US Bank: 3500
A lot of my INQ are from when I was car shopping. At least 10 are from that.
My credit only recently started to improve honestly..... So I value threads like this and I am looking to improve my credit portfolio.

You have a good portfolio! Now let those tradelines age
And don't apply for anymore for a while and you will keep on a good path.
Thank you very much.
I was dumb and applied for an Express Card and was approved. I have no idea what the limit is... Though the reason I applied was because my girlfriend does not like my work dress pants lol..... In any rate I will heed your advice and NOT apply for anymore Credit Cards.
Do you have any advice on the Blue Nile card not increasing the limit despite having it for a number of months? I've only made one purchase on it and am stilll within the 6 month financing term so maybe that is why.
I am getting a large bonus from work and I'd like to pair that with a healthy credit limit and get her a very nice ring... I'm looking at spending about 10k... Should I just tell Blue Nile that when I call rather than the automated system?

A lot of credit enthusiasts would be very happy if a bank simply said, "We like you as a customer with your current accounts and limits, but we wouldn't be comfortable extending you additional credit right now." Unfortunately, a lot of banks don't do that. Comenity's right hand extends credit while the left looks for reasons to take it back.
Comenity (and Amex, Citi, and others) generally won't tell you when you've gone far enough in seeking credit. They just punish you after you go too far.
I didn't think that Comenity would give any detail regarding the closing of all those accounts, pretty much the basic standard form letter. Hopefully this has brought closure to this nightmare event. Its absolutely bizarre to send pre approvals with the closure letters....outrageous!

Was so going to say that!! lol

Thank you for telling us, and we all knew it would be some BS response. It always is....
What's BS about an issuer not liking it when a customer seeks credit aggressively?

Its Comenity...Not JP Morgan ok? ......Cmon..you dont need to go there. No need to bring up "aggressive credit seeking", thats like rubbing salt in a wound CB14..Everyone knows why this happened, it doesnt need to continuously be "repeated"... And it is a BS response.
