Re: Commerce Bank trying to step their game up!

That Garfield card looks nice and since I’m going to have to take ridesharing services soon, the 3% cash back from Lyft and Uber could come in handy, I’ll have to think about that one. What kind of scores do they look for? I would be fine with even a $500 limit for a dedicated ride share card.

Not a ton of info on them when it comes to the scores. Most of the threads that mention scores, were in the 700's.

I think some of the folks that were approved for the Drury inn CC may have been in the 600's? I believe @CreditCuriosity  may have had the Garfield card at one time? I can't be sure though.

Nah never had that card although wanted it as I love garlfiend as basically had every one of his books and stuffed animals growing up as a kid... Anyways I believe that card has the same UW as their other cards.  I just would apply personally if you have any negative on your CR as stated as they aren't inquiry sensitive, but they are conservative like FNBO from what I have gathered and like clean reports although certainly can be GP's to see if they have changed their policy as lenders commonly do.  I was kinda suprised I only got 7k on my Save the Children, was expecting around 12-15k due to my other limits and score at the time upper 700's along with income but they humbled me.  Their cards being co-branded max out at 15k although if you are in their geo region i believe there branded cards such as their WEMC can go much higher

Re: Commerce Bank trying to step their game up!

Applied for the branded cash back card, TU pulled at 690 with no baddies except BK in 2010. Denied.

Definitely a conservative lender. Garden reset. Smiley Sad

Interestingly, they’re the only lender I’ve ever seen that has a work status as disabled on the application - I always say retired since I get social security and that’s the closest status.

Sorry to hear that Saeran!☹️ It most certainly had to be the BK still reporting.
I must say, you aren't afraid to be denied. Which isn't a bad thing in itself. It's the fear of the denial that holds so many back while rebuilding.

Not much longer and the BK will be an afterthought! You can't tell by my profile now, that I had a BK, Foreclosure and Repo on my reports at one time.
Rise up and keep it moving my friend!😊

A denial only hurts for a little while, the benefit of a useful card opportunity is worth the short term hit from a hard pull and you never know.

Depending on what the letter says I may try to talk to them. I have more utilization reporting than normal and I’ll be rectifying that problem this month (four cards with a balance going to 1, highest uti going from 31.8% to 23.43% while my overall util is less than 5%) but if it’s because of the BK I may not even bother trying.

I have a solid set of cards right now, this would have been a nice addition but my PayPal Business Debit paired with the PayPal Cashback gets me the same 3% anyway.

Congratulations on bouncing back! Honestly I would be a lot further if I wasn’t disabled... that caused further baddies post-BK.

I took a stab at the Whitetails Unlimited as I'm georestricted from their Special Connections card.  Approved @ $15K.

They're definitely not inquiry/new account sensitive.

Edited: they pulled EQ.  My lowest FICO 8 (791), my highest FICO9 (right now 843).

(7/2025)
FICO 8 (EX) 850 (TU) 850 (EQ) 850
FICO 9 (EX) 850 (TU) 850 (EQ) 850

No, they are nationwide. And the rewards also cover cellphone bill.
Certain legacyCCss you have to go in a branch. Most of theCCss anyone in the US can obtain.

+1 alot of their non cobranded card are geo restricted otherwise cards such as charity credit and save the children and a slew of others have no geo restrictions.. Their system is WAY outdated unless as stated you are pre-approved it can take up to 10 days for them to even pull your credit which is typically EQ.. The system you enter you application into doesn't even pull your credit you get put into a queue then an uw eventually get to you and hand puts it into another system at that time they pull your credit.. Was wild to say the least as it took them 10 days to try to pull credit never got a pull finally got a mail when they tried due to security freeze called them up and spoke to uw she pulled and was instantly approved at that time.. They aren't inquiry sensitive at all, but make sure you have a solid score/credit report as they don't like baddies

Thanks!

I just asked the family GP to GP one of their non-co-branded cards.  She has a ton of inquiries and new accounts, but otherwise excellent credit.  She got the hurry up and wait message.

The problem will will be her address.  She used a business address in MT and that will set off flags. Unlikely they will approve her or at least they will ask for POA, which she won't have.

Will keep everybody posted.

Sure, they pulled EQ for me. Unless you receive a pre-approval. Chances are its will be 100% UW reviewed.
They're hungry for new customers. So not as picky as some of the more well known banks. Expect 2 to 4 business days before getting your approval email. They aren't inquiry or new account sensitive.

I have this card https://www.commercebank.com/personal/cards/credit-cards-ita/save-the-children. $14k SL on a modest income. They offer more cards than what is seen on the main page. I can't seem to find the link.

There was a thread from maybe 6 months ago where someone posted a link to their list of cardholder agreements that also included their co-branded cards.  I had saved the URL:

You are a star, Coldfusion, a real star!  Thank you so much for that link!
