@pinkandgrey
I know how you feel.
BB&T sent me a SP pre-approval a week ago. I threw it in the trash.
Now they keep emailing me with the offer. 😂

I love how 17.49% variable is considered low these days lol.
😂😂😂
I was thinking the same thing @Anonymous !
With the way the feds keep raising interest rates. 20% will be considered a great rate in a year!😆

Pretty much!
My Navy Platinum might go past 10% 😱!

I remember when my BBVA Amex was around 8% 3 years ago. It's now over 10%.
I somehow managed to get my Plat at the lowest 7.99% and it’s now 8.24% with a $12,700 limit. That card is a unicorn for someone with my credit score and I will cherish it 😂
I mean I always PIF but things happen.
As for the Commerce Bank app, I’m not going to even call. Even if I could talk them into giving it to me, it’s not worth the AAoA hit when I can get Uber and Lyft cards with 5% cash back using my Amazon Prime card versus 3% using the Commerce Bank card to pay.
I am just going to garden until my scores go up in July and then I’ll hit up US Bank and Langley.
I hear ya @Anonymous !
Sounds like you have it figured out.
Remember, sometimes the perks offered by different banks go well beyond the standard cash back or points on initial purchases.
One has to look passed that to understand why some of us have cards that seemingly look like CCs with the same or similar rewards structure.
What they don't see are those other discounts that could be offered from time to time.
Take for example Discover and the Chase Freedom. At first glance, the assumption is these cards overlap rewards. But each has something the other doesn't offer..
The only way to know this, is to have both and receive those special offers.
Those that don't have both, are left in the dark to wonder why anyone would need or want both?😂😉

I get that but since my little US Bank, Commerce Bank, Citi, DCU spree bore fruit on the DCU card which can function as a no-fee overdraft protection for their checking account and a letter from US Bank that seems to suggest I’m not blacklisted, I’ll take the DCU card and go play in the garden.
I only wanted the Commerce Bank card for the 3% on Lyft/Uber since I’m going to have to start going to see my therapist in the office but since I can get the 5% off the gift cards through Amazon, the reasoning for adding the card to my wallet has been weakened to the point that trying to squeeze a $500 approval out of them just isn’t worth the hassle.

I totally understand the Lyft/Uber thing. Get your garden on. lol
Gardening will surely improve your chances in the future of obtaining those CCs that may benefit you the most.

Most definitely. Plus, Commerce isn't really known for reconsiderations as it is. Fairly rare, depending on the profile, that they may overturn the original decision. IIRC, in some cases, it usually ends up with another HP on a separate CRA, so why add more?
