Honest question, I'm not trolling, but all the high end cards tout their concierge service. Do they have pull at places to get reservations that the general public can't? Otherwise, what's the difference between me calling Amex concierge for dinner reservations vs calling the restaraunt directly? I could understand 10-15 years ago if you were in a new city and didn't know where to go and they could make specific recommendations, but now I can just pull out my phone and look at Yelp and find all the places worth going to. I realize the concierge is good for more than just dinner reservations, but it seems like lots of people use it for that.
What can the concierge do that I cannot do myself with a simple google search? Has the concierge service lots a bit of it's relevance in the smart phone era?
Example your on vacation in NY
DW or DH wants to go to a high end restaurant reservation needed 3 months in advance .... or a concert......but no tickets
Call the concierge service and they may be able to get you the tickets and reservations and make the DW or DH and the vacation extra special
I use the concierge on the Prestige all the time. One time, they were not able to fulfill my restaurant reservation. So as an apology, I got a $100 statement credit. Not bad lol.

DH decided he wanted to do a last minute fishing trip one weekend ago, with DS. He & I both work full-time & neither of us have time to find a nice hotel near his fishing spot. He called the concierge for his visa signature; problem solved. The representative called him back in under 20 minutes with a booked hotel plus room upgrades. There is definitely more to it than just dinner reservations. It really all depends on a person's individual needs. If it's an added benefit; why not take advantage.

Where do i sign up or get the number for the Concierge for World MAstercard, Visa Siggy and does the Everyday and BCE have the Amex concierge?
Do all visa signatures have the concierge? I tried bulding my visa signature concierge profile online using my Marriott rewards signature visa and it says my card is not eligible.
I don't think that BCE or everyday come with concierge.
I think it just makes you seem more important when someone else or a respected company calls on the behalf of you.
I've never used them but IMO it's good to have in the arsenal when necessary.
Also, because people rarely utilize this feature, it makes it that much more special when you do.
I posted this last month. Just an example
