Conns credit card

So me and my other half decide to go out and waste time while the paint dries in the house and stopped by conns to look at furniture. We saw something that we liked that was a little out of our price range so they talked about financing. I verbally agreed for them to check my credit to see what I was approved for. During this time we both decided not to go this route and left the store. Employee called minutes later saying we were approved for $9k, I told him no thank you. So yesterday I checked my credit and saw that it said new credit card account opened with a $1200 limit. I’m pretty upset that I didn’t sign a single paper and now have a credit card that I didn’t want. I’m heading up there bright and early tomorrow to get an explanation of what happened.

Re: Conns credit card

Tell them you didn't authorize it and remove both the account and INQ.  A SP qualification shouldn't result in a new account.  I'm sure they get some sort of incentive to open new accounts.
