Consumers Credit Union CC question

I just received an email from someone at Consumers Credit...

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for applying for membership with Consumers Credit Union.

At this time unfortunately the underwriters have denied your credit card application.

In order to complete your  application we need to verify if you would still like me to open your savings and checking account.

I look forward to working with you on your application and will look to see your response to complete your transaction.

Not yet but prolly via mail or online letter.

Think I  read recently about someone else getting declined for a CC w/this CU as well..  To many recent accounts I believe.  CU and their Egyptian debt bogus.

Sorry about the denial. I am glad you got the membership. I couldn't join the membership because I failed the security question. I called the backdoor. They asked for utility bills. All utility bills is under my brother's name. I told them to send bank statement or insurance bills instead. They refused to accept it. They are hard to deal with.

Consumers is a great place to deal with in person or if you know somebody inside. There are some archaic qualities unfortunately. If you call and ask to talk to a sales manager, that will usually begin a lifetime relationship. Thay have bought a handful of smaller CU in the area. Their computer based approvals are very hit and miss, and everything is manually reviewed.

So, you suggest I stop by at one of their locations?? Because this week I had exact the same response Ddemari described. Feel like wasted HP, but perhaps I should pay them little visit...
