Note that you have to insert the card at least once before contactless will actually work. ("At least" because there's a possibility that it has to be somewhere that doesn't do Quick Chip. I'm not sure if that's the case, however.) This is something Citi doesn't mention and definitely should mention somewhere in the future, lest people give up on contactless after having it not work a few times.
I don't think a new thread is needed since the premise of the topic addresses contactless cards in general. BB&T and a few others have sent me contactless replacements here recently, besides Citi.

Nice, I didn't realize BB&T was getting them too. I'd be interested in Visa's updated contactless usage numbers at some point to see if the supposed "100 million" cards by the end of the year are making any sort of dent (IIRC, it was less than 1% of all card transactions last I checked, mainly due to mobile wallets like Apple Pay).
BoA has been issuing them over the last several weeks to select cardholders in a few test markets including Boston as a kind of pilot program to assess the potential value of widesread adoption. They sent me a contactless-enabled replacement Cash Rewards card the 1st week of July.

Yep. Hopefully a nationwide rollout actually materializes with them. If it doesn't, that could mean bad news for all the other issuers that are currently issuing contactless cards now.
Of all my contactless cards, my Savor seems to work the best/easiest while my CFU seems to be the most difficult to get the contactless signal into the receiver. Both my Amex cards are contactless and seem to work decently as well. Walmart gives me the most problems when attempting contactless payments whether with card (especially Amex Gold for some reason) or Samsung Pay. I've gotten errant declines multiple times and I just use the chip when I'm there to avoid the headache. 7-Eleven terminals seem to work the best and strangely they have the same Ingenico terminals.
I'd say close to 90% of the merchants that have a customer interface terminal over here accept contactless, but I am in Silicon Valley... Even most of the little hole-in-the-wall shops seem to accept it.

If only Discover could hop on the train...
Discover tried them the first time around, so I'm not surprised they're being way more cautious this time. I almost wouldn't be surprised if they wait until most other banks start offering them and there's proof of significant customer demand.

Wait, Walmart accepts contactless now?
