Convert Sam's Credit to Sam's MC

I've had a Sam's Club Credit account since the late 90s, before they had a co-branded MC.  Has anone ever tried a PC from the club card to a full fledged MC?

Conversions are by invite only. These would usually display as an upgrade online or via snail mail when an account becomes eligible.

As Finstar stated or if you really want the upgrade you can apply for the MC version in club / online.  Sure, it's a new account but, you get the perks you're missing now.  I did this several years back and kept both accounts until they closed the store account for lack of use at about 22 months.
