It's your choice, but is also your loss. One can't believe everything one reads on the internet.

I've revolved like crazy and take advantage of all services and they jump when I call.

(last year, they wiped out most of the cost for our vacation due to flight cancellation. Great free hotel rooms too; and dinner in my favorite DFW restaurant.)

I just don't understand the fear and hysteria. I USE THEM.........NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

GOOD LUCK,

CI

Well, personally I havent revolved Visa or Mastercard either so personally I have no reason to revolve Amex either for 3 months or many months to enjoy a vacation. But saying that, not everone has similar situation like me and I hope that I am not pushed into credit debt. So personally there is no loss to me.

YMMV, so not "everyone" will get a service that you got. This forum has enough testimonial of their experience with Amex.

I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you were close to being pushed into debt. Not one to carry debt, I can say I am really sorry to read that. (and that is a good reason to never revolve on any product)

Good luck with your problems,

CI

Yes, instant approval in store.  I don't know CL, but I imagine it's probably at $2K like other posters.  I'm not worried about that, I only want it for the cash back and for the Costco credits.

My guess is that this would be unknown, as consumers are no longer allowed to buy our EX FICO scores. Smiley Mad You pretty much have to find out via a mortgage app, which is a pretty brutal tactic.

Plenty of EX FAKO's for sale, of course. Smiley Tongue

Re: Costco Amex

Many times I wonder why one would worry about the points ding if you apply for a card.

If you need the card, you should not care about the ding

If you care about the ding then probably you don't need the card but want it. If you want then you should worry about the ding either.

The only place I would think ding would matter is if you are going to get a huge loan that you really need (mortage) in near future.

Re: Costco Amex

Regarding the Costco Amex Card (True Earnings):

A couple weeks ago I became a member of Costco and declined the Amex app at the service desk. A couple days later I decided to give it a go online and was instantly approved. My credit isn't perfect but, improving day by day. Looking forward to those gas/food rewards. BTW... Costco is much cooler than Sam's Club. Sam's Club doesn't have a Breitling Bentley in their jewelry department. RESIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Costco Amex

How do we get the cash back on this card?

  1. Check at the end of every year?
  2. statement credit after each cycle or year?
  3. costco coupon  yearly that can be redeemed?
  4. Any other?
