With one more INQ to burn before stopping apps for the next year or two, I decided to try CrapOne two days ago because they don't have the foreign transaction fee.
I applied online and got declined. There was no reason given, but they did state: "You may be ineligible for approval for another Capital One Credit Card within the next 45 days; therefore we encourage you to wait for at least 45 days before applying for another Capital One Credit Card."
Funny thing is that they never pulled any credit reports.
I have never applied for CrapOne before and have never ever had a CrapOne product before. What gives? Anybody ever had a similar experience?

Consider yourself lucky - it would have been three hard INQ's for you efforts. Get yourself a Macy's or Nordstrom Visa and forget about Cap1. There are other choices as well (some at 0%). Consult this list:

You are, of course, totally correct. I don't really need CrapOne.
I'm just wondering WTH could possibly cause a CrapOne denial without actually pulling my CRs.

Capital One is a very good card to have for those with iffy credit. And they have been good to many who is trying to rebuild their credit Speaking without experience, I would think they're better than First Premier and other banks that offers rebuilder cards.
With first hand experience, I totally agree with comment! My only complaint with them is it seems to be that if you were subprime when you signup, you will always remain subprime for that card. I have been stuck at $1250 for almost 3 years on my Cap1 MC, but they have lowered my APR down to 9.75% even after receiving the ratejack notification. I keep it open since it is not costing me an AF. I use it for minor expenses like paying for online subscriptions etc,. They are lightyears better than First Premier, Orchard Bank, First Bank of Delaware types!

That's absolutely correct. Each card type issued by Cap1 has a CL ceiling that you will never break through. If you want higher you'll have to app for a new card. The card is OK except for the fact that an app costs you three hard INQ's, there are no cardholder initiated CLI requests presently and this ceiling business. FP and Orchard will probably give you credit when Cap1 might not. Orchard will at least grow somewhat. FP is poison.

The OP is not rebuilding. He has 2 x $25K USAA CC's! He was looking for a card with a low FT fee.
