I've had my share of problems with Capital One, but then I realize that they gave me a shot when almost no one else would, and I was able to grow off of that. (not to take this too far OT)

I do understand but also during my rebuilding process I was denied several times for a Cap One card. An finally 3 years ago they gave it a green light. I kind of feel like it's like dating sometime things don't work out an you move on. An I can't stay in a relationship that's not going to grow.

Re: Crapital One

Who says your relationship with Capital One can't grow? Capital One offers a vast array of products even for those with GREAT credit and even the wealthy. Take the Venture Visa Signature card for example..that's not sub-prime whatsoever. Also they have competitive auto loan rates..no balance transfer fees, and no foreign transaction fees! Granted, 95% of the cards are MasterCard, so it may be tricky to find a foregin retailer that takes MC, but unless you're going to South America you should have no problem.

Re: Crapital One

There is nothing wrong with Cap 1.  I've financed a car through them in the past and also have a credit card.  They may not give me the CLI I think I deserve, but then neither might BOA or Chase or WF.  Can you beat their interest rates?  Sure, sometimes.  Can you get a better CL elsewhere?  Perhaps.  But Cap 1 provides a service and not just to ppl rebuilding their credit history.  They have their warts too (just like any other ccc.)

Re: Crapital One

I have to agree with ap3xlabs, I see a lot of members showing signs of that Love/Hate Bipolar syndrome with their lenders.  In the beginning, it's all gravy... then, when you don't get what you want -- they're the scum of the universe.  Remember, it's not our money.

Mjbfan79, with no AF you were not losing anything.  I think most people would be jealous of that offer.  Anyhow, did you think Cap-1 was going to feel sad for losing a customer when they have millions?  Really, no.  Yes, it's true -- they don't care because your account doesn't add any value in their eyes.  So, like you said about a relationship... if you're doing all the work and the other party does nothing (in this case, flip it around and you're the bad date), they have no problem saying goodbye -- they're just hanging around waiting for YOU to say, "ummm it's not you, it's me...".

I neither like or dislike Capital One.  It's just my credit card company, that I do business with.  I don't mix business and my personal feelings.

Re: Critical One

To each it's on but I stick firmly behind my decision. Capital One are snakes. I had a car loan with them before also with a 15% interest rate thank God I was able to get in refinanced with Alliant which now my interest rate is 6.5%. I'm sure they do have Million on customers an so in their eyes they could care less about me lol. Cap One is dead to me an I wound never apply for any of there products again.

I've been pretty happy with them. They are what they are, and I think that they do a better job than most with the subprime market. The AF is reasonable and the offer a rewards card for subprime credit. I like their website, I can pay as many times as I want without having to constantly deal with payments being held, and I've never had a problem with their CSRs. Even though I'm looking forward to moving on to prime cards, I have no bad feelings towards Cap1 and will keep my cards with them; one of the two is my oldest open CC.

Now First Premier I just plain don't like, but that's another story! Smiley Wink

Re: Crapital One

Right, tinuviel!  All banks serve the same purpose -- to make money!  It doesn't matter if you're with ABC mom-pop bank or Executive Global Larger-than-Live Financial Bank... same goal.  Unfortunately, we live in a world of bills... don't pay them and you're doomed.  On the flip side, some banks, Cap1 included, decided to expand their products to reach all demographics from those with poor credit to excellent.  I'm not the owner, but it sounds like a pretty decent business model.

Unfortunately, there are people who can't tell the difference between a bank that does for "some" and a bank that does for "all".  These are the same people that stamp labels on everything because they don't notice the economy tilting downward.  Example, if the majority of Cap1's customers are sub-prime, they're labeling Cap1 as a sub-prime ONLY company.   Hmmm, I wonder what they think about FICO???  A sub-prime credit scoring company because the majority of records show below average scores due to the economy???

Re: Crapital One

Cap one like any other company out there are in the business to **bleep** you whether you do business with them or no personal feeligns are involved. When you have bad FICO's Cap one know that you need them. So they give you a card and can deny you CLI when they feels like it. They know you're stuck with them.

Cap one also treats you according to your CL. The more you have ,the better service you get. That's normal business. We the small people with small CL are not their main concern and whay  should we be? They have bigger fish to catch out there but in the process they can and do **bleep** with the little card holders. They gave me a card when no one would and I appreciate that but don't give me the BS that 'we review your account for a CLI every 6 months'. Then you have a card and always pay it on time with 5% util all the time. 3 years later no CLI? So yes it gets personal.

Just a rant about Cap one but at the end of the say it is what it is. It's a bank, so we the people will never win.
