Amex at 15 I believe.
you might be able to on your other cards that don't ask about age or social, just name and it matches up that way.
My son and daughter both have SS cards...So I was thinking why not build up there credit?

Interesting question and I look forward to hearing the answers. My son is 14 and I have considered adding him.
Just do it!!
I was thinking AMEX for their backdating policy, but upon further reading discovered they require AUs be at least 15. The best information I could find implies that Capital One only requires AUs be 13. I just looked at my account and the form does ask for a DOB but they do not specify a minimum age. The terms do indicate that they do report AUs to all three CRAs which is good, but I was hoping for a more reputible company for him than Capital One.
Does anyone know Citibank's policy as far as minimum age requirements and whether or not they report to all three CRAs?

All the major companies report AU.
bank doesn't really matter for reporting a TL, limit and use matter more so depending your cap1 still good add!
and as they reach the age for Amex you put them on that!
Thanks to all for you investigations!![]()

My Capital One card has a lower limit of $1500, but it has nearly 3 years of history behind it. One thing about the Cap 1 card is that it still has a $35 AF attached to it and I do not want to feel like I need to keep the card open as I intend to close it before the AF hits next year. My Citi Simplicity is my highest limit, but it has no history behind it, it's a brand new card. I think though that the history wouldn't matter so much... He's only 14, so by the time he needs to apply for any credit even the brand new card will have several years of history.
Glad to know that any major lender will report AUs to all three CRAs, and YES I will definately be adding him to my AMEX on his 15th birthday. Citi only asked for a name on their form, so I guess it shouldn't be a problem.
How would I go about pulling his credit to verify that the card was reporting? I think my Equifax Complete plan has an option to add your children, but I'm not sure if you actually get to pull their reports or not. I will investigate this and see.
