Crazy Rakuten Sign Up Offers

Rakuten is offering some crazy sign up bonuses for several chase cards currently (h/t DoC):

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred: $300 (30k Amex MR), normally $50
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited: $150 (15k Amex MR), normally $50
  • Chase Ink Business Unlimited: $300 (30k Amex MR), normally $50

If you've been holding off on the 100k CSP SUB, you could now get 130k in combined currencies, which is crazy good for a $95 annual fee card.

It does feel weird to be earning Amex points for getting a Chase card though...

Re: Crazy Rakuten Sign Up Offers

You can link your Amex MR account to your Rakuten profile, and choose to earn Amex MR points instead of cashback.

Ordinarily, you can't earn sign up bonuses from this type of affiliates but I guess Chase made an exception

Re: Crazy Rakuten Sign Up Offers

Used the Rakuten offer the other day for CSP.  I've had issues in the past with Rakuten not wanting to associate some of my transactions with them as the referrer, so I screenshot my Chase approval timestamp and Rakuten shopping timestamped history this time.
