Absolutely .... just look at many of the posts here.  Many chase new cards, CLI's, reward points and any other aspect of CC's with glee.  In fact, it's a bit scary.  It's almost a game to many.

I do agree lol

RE:

The biggest reason, I think, is it's a whole identity thing. We have OUR credit cards that save us time, money and also, look really cool (just speaking for myself).

And at the end of your life if you've spent $1 million in credit card purchases (approx $15,000.00/year for 70 years), thats $10,000.00 to $20,000.00 of FREE MONEY!

Re: RE:

When I see how many people have 10+ credit cards that they actively use, yes, I have to say we are addicted to credit cards =)

Re: RE:

I can see it being an addiction for me.   I always got a rush seeing that new approval and seeing the CL, but it's really not "free money" or "money" in my pocket as I've seen some refer to it. (That was my old mentality and what brought me to these boards in the first place!).  Now I look at it as "credit" in case I ever really need it which I'm hoping I never do!  If I can't PIF each month, I'm not using it.  I still get the urge to app especially when I read posts, but I take a deep breath and do something else!

Re: Credit Card Addiction

I'm in! Smiley Very Happy  Even though I have about 13 cards, I'm always looking for a better deal.  Plus, I absolutely LOVE to shop whether in store or online.  But, unlike in the past, I always pay my bills before their due dates and either in full or 3 to 4 times more than the minimum due.  This is ok as far as I'm concerned because it lets my creditors know I can manage my debt.

The good thing is I don't carry balances on all of them.  That's suicide in the long run!

Re: Credit Card Addiction

I just want enough credit to purchase stuff. Like buying a airplane ticket that can be around $1500 or a furniture or electronic like TV etc that can be few Ks.

Now that I have been approved for 4k from Wamu, I don't need any additional credit card or credit in near future.

So no I am not addicted to credit cards, but yeah i was bit eager to get a good CL credit card.

Now next thing I want to do is refinance the autoloan below 9%.

If you want to play games with money then nothing is more rewarding then the stock exchange, thats my view.
