Re: Credit Card Addiction

I'll have to agree with you void. I'm not addicted to credit cards at all. (I have 4 total-7 between dh & I) I would say I'm addicted to cli's Smiley Tongue. I get to eager and push the dang luv button too much... I've refrained until September...All I want is a 5K+ cl to have for large emergencies-car breaking down ect ect- I'm @ 2K now. . .

I will admit I am addicted to MYFICO ;P

Re: Credit Card Addiction

It IS definitely addicting. Now that I can finally get 'some' credit. For awhile there, I found myself just searching for something to apply for. Don't need the credit. Don't carry balances anymore. I've learned my lesson and thanks to myfico....actually care about my credit now.

Kept saying I wouldn't apply for more...that I was 'done'.
Kept apping. Couldn't help it! But now that I got the last one that really wanted (BoA), I'm satisfied.

Only a couple have hit my reports so far, out seven new accounts. Been watching for them, but scared to see how much they'll 'ding' me for new credit and lower average age.

We'll see.

Re: Credit Card Addiction

For me it's about the idea that if I wanted something I could just go get it. Not to mention the perks that some of the better cards grant. Then theres that safety blanket of knowing it's there i you need it.

Re: Credit Card Addiction

It's all about the thrill of the hunt. Unfortunately, a lot of people have trouble getting out of that hunter mentality, and so they keep looking and looking for more cards. It can be a tough transition.

I had a long-planned-out app-o-rama, knowing exactly what I wanted, and I got it all and was done. But even so, I still wound up with a what-the-heck Barclay B&N MC with a whopping $500 CL the next month, and an accidental Best Buy store card the month after that, resulting from excessive curiosity about what looked like a soft pre-app. So it took me a couple of whoopses to get the app'ing mentality shoved back in its cave.

Live and learn! Smiley Wink

Re: Credit Card Addiction

I'm addicted to getting a prime card for at least a $3000 credit limit.
