Credit Card Approval (currently on have Orchard)

Well first off years ago I messed up my credit by getting into $1500 in card debt (which I recently paid off). The only card I got approved for (after applying for several) was an Orchard Bank for $300 and a Macys for $100. My Fico score is 660 and I'd like to get atleast one more card to start rebuilding my credit. Any advice?

Have you tried the preapproval site for a Capital One card, you can use the card for rebuilding and it does offer the credit steps program for cli's.  And it is a soft pull at first if you are preselected for any card, and if you actually go for it a hard pull does result then.  Good Luck

Re: Credit Card Approval (currently on have Orchard)

Hi mhart,

If you've apped for several other cards, I'd consider letting your two newbies age for six months before apping for anything else.

I liked my Orchard for rebuilding (in spite of their AF),  especially if you monitor your account online.  Macy's is a bit of a stinker right now because they no longer report CL's, but I still like my Macy's card and its accompanying coupons.  For Macy's, it's best to PIF, they have a terrible interest rate.

Congrats on your new cards!  Very nicely done!!!
