Re: Credit Card Authorized User Question

I got added to my husband's Discover as an AU to mooch the 20 year open history. It showed up when I pulled Experian on 9/11 (one week ago.) So Experian is still reporting AU's. I think I read somewhere that the Powers That Be have gotten cold feet on dropping this, and the start date is now vaguely some time in early 2008.

It was very quick. Maybe 36 hours later on Experian, and another 24 hours after that on TransUnion? Nothing yet on Equifax--so what else is new? The TrueCredit Experian FAKO score ooched up 8 points after the history went on, for what little that's worth. (Pretty dang little.) I'm waiting for an approved HELOC to hit before I cough up for FICO's. At any rate, ScoreWatch has not yet awakened from its slumbers to tell me that anything interesting has happened on my Equifax report. hope this helps

Re: Credit Card Authorized User Question

When my wife first added me a while back my score went up 44 points for 2 accounts accross the board.  I guess it all depends on what your report needs as far as boost goes.  In my case I had not CC accounts.

If you are planning to apply for a mortgage or any big loan its still beneficial to add AU.

Good Luck,
