Good memory CC.

Founded in 2014 and the card went public in 2016.

It's pretty funny to look back at those posts.

ya good ole days of the forums when very active and interesting interactions were a lot more common and more sense of community.

Re: Credit Card FOMO

I wouldn't say I have FOMO for any particular card, but I am firmly in the Apple ecosystem, so the Apple card makes sense for me. 0% financing and 3% cash back is pretty tough to ignore on things I am buying anyways. I'll be applying for it after I close on my mortgage in a week.

I have learned, if something looks good, maybe even "too good", don't take the watch and wait approach.  If you want it, go for it!  Worse case, you enjoy it while it lasts.  Middle case, it gets nerfed to new applications but you are grandfathered.  Best case, it doesn't get nerfed - enjoy early and often, lol!

Yes, I benefited from this getting in early on the uncapped BCP and uncapped Cash+ .   Lots of rewards till they nerfed well over a year later.  Those were examples where while the nerfed versions were nowhere nearly as good, they were still OK.

Jumped on US Alliance rather than the more-work-to-app AOD, which turned out to be the wrong bet,  Still as @Kforce says, the initial nerf (6% groceries) was excellent, the subsequent one much less appealing.

And as others have mentioned, blispay.   Not sure going early on that (I didn't) would have a good use of a pull.....

So can't always guess right!

One of the most FOM cards that  I remember everyone going crazy for was the Blispay card that died of a quick death.

Blispay shutting off spending capability right before Black Friday was just mean. I had things to buy, lol Smiley Very Happy

I did use it to help finance a couple of large purchases as I was starting a new job back in 2017. Crazy to believe that was almost 10 years ago.
