Just curious to know what's going on....I have 11 CC's and 8 of them increased my limits late last year without me ever requesting a CLI?? Some of the increases were so sudden and totalled roughly $6500 within a short span of time (...and at the same time i was approved for 2 more cards with a combined total CL over $5K). When i check my credit report inquiries I find that none of them even pulled my report for the CLI. I hear a lot of comments about soft vs hard pulls. I've requested CLI's before and it never showed up on my report. Trust, I am not complaining
As for these sudden unrequested increases in credit limit, will it ultimately affect my credit? Has this happened to anyone else?
Auto CLIs are only positive for your credit. They increase your credit line, thus lowering your utilization. It's a win-win situation for you.

+1. As long as you aren't going wild with the new available credit!

Thanks. I knew that it would lower my utilization but wasn't sure that it wouldn't make me look like a bigger credit risk after I read somewhere that increasing your line of credit could actually work against you.
No problem. Enjoy your new CLs but don't go crazy!
Also, the nice thing about auto CLIs is that they do not require a hard pull of your credit report, so it doesn't ding your score. And as has been stated, the additional CLs will reduce your %util if you are carrying a balance - and this is good for your FICO score.

Definitely not. Why ruin a good thing?! In fact it's funny I got the auto CLI's on all the cards I barely use anyway.
