Re: Credit One 5% Visa

$5000 per year divided by 12 months. That doesn't mean they only allow $416 per month, it just means if you were calculating the $5000 cap to pay a monthly bill, $416 would be the most it could for 12 months.

Your opinion, of course. Other folks still use them and the OP has a valid reason to share their thoughts, just as other have offered their opinions on this latest 5% product. It's fairly known that Credit One is not for everyone, but there are indidivuals who have had no other alternatives where Credit One offered them a lifeline to build/rebuild their credit. It's not like they're going to disappear if the community stops taking their offers.

Compared to MANY other cards out there currently, no, they do not.

My current Credit One card has no AF and 2% back on several categories. I just came out of BK7 and they gave me this no fee card with a $1500 limit. They aren't great, but they have cards now that are far from sucking, imo.

Agreed. Even with all of our cards, we've continued to get keep DW's Credit One card because they waived the AF and they occasionally have some nice 10% cash back offers to merchants we frequent. The payments always post next day, and we've never any issues whatsoever.
As long as we get value from it, we'll keep it.

Re: Credit One 5% Visa

This is definitely a difference for CreditOne. I guess they realize their predatory ways will finish them off in the end. If they continue to improve their business practices in addition to adding more "prime" options on their card portfolio, they might be more viable.

Re: Credit One 5% Visa

I didn't take it since I'm gardening for some better cards, but the best friends card with 5% back is actually decent.  I was pre-qualified for the no annual fee version and could find a use for it with regular spend, I have a few pets, but with no SUB and a 5k cap per year it's not worth the opportunity cost of another card.

It's still a decent niche card and it could fit in some folks wallets who would otherwise never touch credit one.

Just say no to Credit One.  The Sherman Financial Group is a company you want to stay far away from...pure predatory trash or the worst kind.

@7774x - I have. And, there are recent Credit One products that have no AF, a grace period on purchases and rewards.

And, while I'm not in the market for a Credit One credit card at this stage of my credit journey, my point in the above quoted response remains the same.
