Re: Credit One AF impossible to report 0?

Naw, it's not THAT big of a deal. I just chose the wrong card to be the balance reporter. I just had a Happy Gillmore moment after staring at a 0 balance for 29 days then a last second $8...WHY CANT YOU JUST GO HOME, BALL?!?

To build on what the others have suggested, pushing payments via your bank/credit union bill pay is the way to go...and not just for the AF.

Credit One is infamous for its S-L-O-W posting times relative to payments made on their website/app. However, payments made via bill pay post quite quickly.

My sister has their Platinum Rewards card. She pushes payments on Monday mornings and both the balance and available credit are updated the following evening.

Agreed.  This usually applies to most sub prime cards.  I always send CO payment from my CU.  They receive the payment on the date I request from my bank and the next day my credit limit is restored.  I have a couple sub prime cards where they literally hold your account hostage for 5 days after taking your money.

SDFCU did this as well. They posted the payment - which was basically a transfer from my checking account with them at the time - and then held the available credit hostage for FOUR BUSINESS DAYS.

After the third time they did this, I SD'd the card, closed the checking account, and then took my business elsewhere.

Yeah, I kinda get it. I debated back and forth on closing my bucketed Cap1 card since it was my oldest, but I had just experienced an old Chase card aging off after 10 years, so I knew it was true. How old is your next oldest card/account?

Re: Credit One AF impossible to report 0?

Wow that is a riot. I would have thought a OpenSky or Discover It Secured would have been a better offer.

Basically you need to either suck it up and live with the small amount on Credit One or force Credit One to take your money by ramming it into their Federal Reserve Bank account from somewhere else. Overall your limits are too small to be concerned with right now. You should be looking into boosting the money in your credit lines as 300 is just above decline.
