Credit One Card Advise (Do not open an account with them!)

I decided to open an account with Credit One in March.  At the time I believed I was dealing with Capital One instead of Credit One (my mistake).  I was approved for a $400 CL and I used the card the first month to rebuild my credit.  Long history short, after paying a $75.00 annual fee and throwing the card in the drawer when I was approved for other CCs (see signature), I still continued to see monthly charges in my card so I decided to call and close the account.  The CSR in the phone harrased me for 15 minutes to keep the account open.  I have to tell him that I will report him to the Consumer Protection Bureau for him to finally caved and close the account.  My advise to all the people in this forum that are starting to build or rebuild theri credits:  DO NOT open an account with Credit One!  Instead, take $200 and open a secure card with either Discover, Capital One or CIti.  Trust me, it will be a lot better that dealing with Credit One.

NFCU Platinum $1700.00; Capital One Platinum $300.00; Discover (secure) $200.00; Bank One $300.00 (April 2017)

NFCU Platinum $1700.00; Capital One Quicksilver $1800.00; Discover $2000.00; (March 2019)

I second that!

Before reading here, I signed up for CreditOne also with a $400 CL.

I used it the first month, tossed it in a drawer. I used it once 3 weeks ago for a purchase. Logged in a week later to pay it and suddenly I cannot pay online - its telling me i'm not authorized to make a payment and to call CS.

Call CS, sit on hold for 10 mins. Finally get to a rep that is harder to understand than my dog - she advises me I can't pay because I've already paid 4 times this month...Uhh mam, I havent used your POS in 4 months, let alone 4 payments, let alone 4 in 1 month? **bleep**? So she starts looking into it, DISCONNECTED.

Call back, rinse & repeat. This time the guy says he can take my payment over the phone but its going to cost me a $13 express fee. I tell him I dont want it expressed, I want a normal payment. "All phone payments are express, need to pay a fee" - ask to speak to a supervivor, DISCONNECTED.

3rd call, over an hour of my time wasted - finally get a rep on the phone who gets a supervisor, who waives the fee and takes my payment. 4 days later I see a pending ACH, and then 5 days after that its FINALLY credited to my c1 account. Of course, the statement printed in between then.... As of today, my balance is 0 but if I click payment I get an error message im not authorized and to call CS..

What a scam...

In all seriousness, Capital One needs to go after Credit One and have the courts slap them down hard for trademark infringement. What Credit One is doing is pretty close to fraud IMO.

LMAO! This is hilarious. I don't see how anyone could want to join Credit One anyway. I am one person who had an addiction to applying for and getting new cards but every time I get a credit one mailer OR email, I cringe at the sight of every single fee. I mean, come on now, an instant fee of about $125 on activation with a $300 limit? I'll pass every single time!

They also do look a lot like Capitol One. Cap1 doesn't seem bothered though because they know they're the better company.

NFCO anyone? LOL!
