Credit One - Direct Check Fee Increased

Good Morning All,

I closed my Credit One account earlier this week.  It was a bitter sweet moment, because Credit One was the 1st Credit Card Co to give me a Credit Card when I was starting my journey to improved credit.  This morning I went on line to pay my final bill and guess what - they increased the Direct Check Fee from 5.95 to 7.95.  No longer was the moment bitter sweet.  7.95 is nuts to pay your bill online.

I  saw that too when I paid last. Crazy fees. That move placed them to the top of my kill list. They were in second place behind Orchard.

Dang- That is nuts

We closed DW's Creditone a few months ago-

It's funny- if you send them a paper check - they convert it to an ACH anyways- with no fee.

Why can't they be like every other company and kill this fee off-

I have a CreditOne credit card account and noticed the increase.  If you have a bank checking account  and they offer the online bill pay then use that.  Thats what I use and funds are drafted the second day as an ACH as stated by the other comment posted.  That way it doesnt cost you anything, otherwise try to send it in early, if possible.

I closed my account also last week. You could have paid through bill pay which is free. I have used it for last 2.5 years and I was always able to pay on time with out any issues through bill pay. I hate to see the card go, but is a sweet parting as it is the first card gave me a chance in rebuilding my credit. I highly recommend this card for those who can not get another card.
