Re: Credit One Platinum X5 Visa

I also have two creditone accounts including the X5 my combined limits are $4,825, I have had zero issues with them and haven't paid an annual fee in years. They code as a credit card and not a Finance account so no worries on stigma.

Re: Credit One Platinum X5 Visa

Good to know! Thank you.  I dont plan on doing anything too crazy until my score is well established in the 700s, but I would like to increase my credit limits eventually.  My current total credit limit is $4300, which is up from about $1900 a couple of months ago. Im just gonna keep using and paying off each month until I feel like it would benefit me to get a hard inquiry to get a good card with a much higher starting credit limit and better terms.  But for now I'm just happy I have made progress!

I have never had any issues at all with them either.  My ONLY complaint is that their website is not super great quality and it takes a long time for my payments to post.  Whereas with Capital One, once I make a payment, it shows up as available credit immediately.  But I appreciate that Credit One got me back in the credit card game when no one else would have me. LOL

To each their own, I just think that you can get better cards instead of Credit 1. Without starting a flame war I personally see them as being predatory!

Try Cap 1 (preapproval), Discover (preapproval) and Chase Freedom Flex (preapproval and no af!) for example...

They are ok.  Not bad, not great.  They do things that alot of other companies dont, like charge intreest from the purcase date, not the statement date.  Its not huge, but I noticed thats how they calculated interest.  All my other "regular" cards charge interest at the next billing cycle so if its paid before then. no interest.  I looked at that card as I am preapproved for all of them at this point, and There are other cards with no annual fees that give me a good amount of cash back..so look around before you accept it.

Re: Credit One Platinum X5 Visa

I already have CapOne. I started out with CreditOne, because they were the only ones that would give me a credit card.  Their fees are high, no doubt.  I would not have sought CreditOne out for another card, now that my cred it is much better, but since they were offering a card with a much higher limit and better terms with no hard credit inquiry.  I do not want to add another inquiry to my credit profile while i am still working on bringing up my scores to mid 700's consistently.

I would find the offer tempting. It would be a new highest limit card with no HP. The only downside is new accounts. It would put you 5/24? (You don't give dates).  Also would be a new youngest account.

Many banks don't like recent accounts. If you don't plan any apps for 6 months or more, id go for it.

I'm still learning a lot of the lingo, so would these dates put me at 1/24 since the other 3 are over 24 months old?

I would stay away from Credit One. Your scores should be good enough for better cards. Have you look into pre qualification sites of Amex, Chase, Wells, etc. to see if any offers show up?

American Express: Platinum Charge, Optima, Business Gold, Delta Business Reserve, Business Cash, Business Plus
Barclays: Arrival+ WEMC
Capital One: Savor WEMC, Venture X Visa Infinite
Chase: Freedom U Visa Signature, CSR Visa Infinite
Citibank: AAdvantage Platinum WEMC
Elan/US Bank: Fidelity Visa Signature
Credit Union: Cash Back Visa Signature
FICO 08: Score decrease between 26-41 points after auto payoff (11.01.21) FICO as of 12.24, EX: 813 / EQ: 825 / TU: 818

Re: Credit One Platinum X5 Visa

I'm not looking to do anything that will show an inquiry right now. I want to build my credit score up further prior to doing something that will require a HP.
