Credit One

These folks sent me a letter today saying in order to continue processing my application they need a copy of my social security card.  Ever hear of this?

Everyone talked about CLI at first payment. I have made 4 payments within a 30 day period and still no CLI... what's up?!!

Re: Credit One

I appreciate and agree with your comment.  I have had a fair amount of success with starter cards recently - nothing impressive, but they're a start.  I think I'll pass on this one.  Thanks for your input.

Re: Credit One

I just got a Credit One card...it takes them a while to go through with the application but it's well worth the wait. I got approved and within less than a week, I received the card in the mail. My scores aren't that high (599-Transunion 609-Equifax 601-Experian), but I got approved for $600 and I had just gotten approved for four other cards a week before. I say go for it!

P.S. They do have online options to pay your bill, it just costs you around $5-$7 dollars to do so. Good luck!

Re: Credit One

I got this card couple of years ago with a CL of $200 and they have been giving a $100 CL every six months and now I am at $600. It is a card with long history on my CR. I am going to keep it for few more years as it adds value to my fico. Card wise it is not bad but not great either. Only thing is I dont like the $5.95 monthly fee every month as annual fee. They will not take it as one payment. I use BOA billpay and I sent my payment through my billpay. It works great. They payments get there on time. It does not cost me any money. I dont have to pay creditone online payment fee. I use the card for lunch couple of times a month and pay it off in full and then sock it. It is aging and adding points to fico. I'll keep the card around for few more years.
