Credit card reporting

If a card statement closes on the 8th, but it reports 5 days later am I able to use that card after the statement is cut or do I have to wait until it reports for utilization purposes?

Re: Credit card reporting

You can use it right after your statement cuts.  This assumes you are not dealing with an oddball like US Bank / Elan who report your end of month balance regardless of statement date.

Re: Credit card reporting

I've even used my card on the day the statement cuts because I know my charge won't post to the account that fast (meaning the day of statement cut).  It'll take away from my available amount but my statement will still cut with a zero balance because pending transtractions aren't figured into the balance...at least not on any of my cards.

Re: Credit card reporting

You can use it the same day the statement cuts or in my case I may use a card each and everyday of the month

Remember if it's in pending when statement cuts when that transaction clears it goes toward the next statement

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
