Credit cards that earn >3% at camp/RV/trailer parks and professional services

Are there any credit cards that can earn >3% at campgrounds or RV/trailer parks, other than through teaser arrangements?

  • In particular, does any of the credit cards with a "travel portal" allow you to book ultra-cheap/crappy campgrounds/trailer parks? (I'm guessing no.)
  • There are a few cards that I suspect might allow this. Let me know if I'm wrong, or if there are more.
    • PenFed Pathfinder (As I understand it, they give you 4 points back on travel, which includes campgrounds. I think their points tend to be worth about 0.85c a piece when used for money-like redemption, so I think this would basically be 3.4% back.)
    • The "travel portal" type cards, but probably only to book super fancy campgrounds like where they have like billionaire drug parties and stuff.
    • Obviously if the campground codes as something else

You say that as if that's a bad thing!

Are there any cards that get >3% back on the "professional services" category?

  • Introductory rates/bonuses
  • Business cards

The Wells Fargo Propel (now discontinued) earned 3x on "airline, hotel and motel, timeshares, vehicle and auto rentals, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, campgrounds." The rumored Autograph card might cover the same but we won't know until it is actually released.

Does the merchant take Paypal? If so, I'd recommend the Paypal credit card for the 3% Paypal category.

There was a similar thread here several months ago that might have some relevant and useful content.

That's a great idea! So far no, but there are more in my future.

It depends on how they code. If lucky, they may get included in the 3-5% categories (Cash+, BOA CCR, etc).

You are correct that for the CCR card campgrounds and trailer parks are specifically listed as a qualifying merchant category under travel, however to meet  OP's requirement for the card to earn more than 3% back the cardholder must at a mininum have BoA Preferred Rewards Gold status.
