Rewards/CB cards for RV Park Lodging

As a full-time RVer it's sometimes hard to find credit cards that cater to our needs.

Most travel rewards cards are geared for hotel lodging, airline miles, and club access, but don't count RV parks as lodging.

Right now I'm getting 2% cb on RV parks with the C1 Walmart MC.

I thought about the GoodSams rewards card that gives x3 points per dollar, but that works out to roughly 2.1% cb. Not really a big enough bump to switch from C1.

The next best thing I found is the AOD with 3% everything CB. That may be worth it.

Does anyone know of any other rewards cards that benefit full time RVers or with at least a 3% CB or better reward for RV park lodging while traveling?

There's plenty of food and grocery rewards out there, so not really interested in those.

I'm looking for the odd ball rewards cards that benefit the RV travel industry, specifically.

Beneficial rewards might include:

RV Parks

Propane

Gas

Food

RV supplies

Weigh stations

Dump stations

Deep cycle batteries

RV Repair

RV Roadside Assistance

etc..

Thanks in advance...

Re: Rewards/CB cards for RV Park Lodging

BoA's cash rewards program travel category includes MCC 7033 Campgrounds and Trailer Parks so the Customized Cash Rewards card with Travel as the selected 3% category, on up to $2500 spend each calendar quarter.    If you had a specific need come up for a different category you are alllowed to make 1 caregory change each calendar month and purchases made against the original category that month before the change are grandfathered in so the 3% cashback still applies; purchases made against the new category after the category change (but not before!) will earn 3%.

If you're looking for a broad-based RV-centric card like you outlined, I've never heard of one - the AOD card or the Alliant 2.5% cashback card, if you can meet each month's requirements to earn you the 2.5% back, might be your best bet.   I'm leaving out the US Alliance 3% card because they currently plan to recategorize it as a 2% card at the end of 2022.

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree, the AOD is looking like the best everything option.

I'll check into BofA travel rewards.

Just a note @Drifter73, the card mentioned by @coldfusion was the BoA Cash Rewards, not the BoA Travel Rewards (which is a different product).

This might seem pedantic, but for your needs you probably would much prefer getting 3% back with the Cash Rewards (if the MCC qualifies) over 1.5% with the Travel Rewards. Smiley Wink

Thanks for clarifying. I actually looked at the travel rewards max 1.5%cb and scratched my head. Smiley Happy I'll check cash rewards now.

Re: Rewards/CB cards for RV Park Lodging

Update: the 3% cb for BofA cash back rewards is good for up to $2500 per quarter = $833 per mo. @ 3% = $24.99 mo. Cb.

That's not too bad, however, I would prefer no cap on the category. Campgrounds and related purchases at campgrounds code the same being a purchase at their location and can sometimes exceed that monthly cap easily.

$833 is better than citi custom cash with a $500 cap on categories per month and their travel doesn't seem to cover campgrounds.

I may just have to stick with my 2% no cap c1 for now until my file is good enough for AOD 3% no cap.

I just read that the u.s. pride by BofA is no longer available to new u.s. applicants.

The Suzy komen BofA card is still open to new apps though.

Not sure of BofAs policy having two x3% cb cards at the same time to manipulate the caps. I may have to call them.

Thanks for the info.
