Credit for member fee
I just received my card yesterday, new account. The member fee of $39 was posted to my account shortly after activating. Any chance of getting this removed? I'm rebuilding and was approved for a capital one quicksilver one card with a $300 SL

Re: Credit for member fee
Just call cap1 and ask if they could waive the annual fee, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Worst they can say is no though, good luck!

If getting the fee waived fails, no worries. You should be able to merge it into another Cap1 card in the future once it becomes unsecured.

Tell them you're prepared to take your business elsewhere.

Easy enough to say, but she says she is rebuilding, and Capital One is giving her the standard rebuilding card with fee. She may not have many opportunities elsewhere, so "taking business elsewhere" could be an empty threat.
