So, I have a brand new Chase Freedom Unlimited card with a low limit ($4,000) and another Chase card, the United Mileage Plus card with a $16,000 limit, a zero balance, and I never use the thing, would Chase let me move some of the credit line from the MP card to the CFU and therefore up the limit that I can use for 0% interest balance transfers?

Yes. You can call them or send a SM to request how much you'd like to allocate from the MileagePlus CC to the CFU.
Awesome. thank you.
LOL. Insane Samsungs are never fun.
So, I called Chase and now have a much higher limit on my CFU and a much lower limit on my MP. Yay, that's a good start.
So when I applied for the new card, I requested a balance transfer from my Delta Amex. The people I spoke with on the phone at Chase couldn't see anything on the account related to that, and I have no idea if that went through or not. The fine print on the new card application said that the balance transfer, if approved, would be processed in about 10 days. So how do I know if that will even be approved? What are reasons that it wouldn't be? Do I have to wait 10 days or more to find out? Now I'm paranoid that I just dinged my credit score for no good reason. Sigh.

Some BTs, especially on a new card, do take a bit to process, so the 10-day processing timeframe is pretty standard for Chase.
Once processed, you'll see the available credit reduced and the amount in "pending". IIRC, there's a link to view the status of the BT. How much did you request to BT?
(In the Pay & Transfer tab, click Card balance transfers (or use this link):
https://secure03b.chase.com/web/auth/dashboard#/dashboard/misc/classic/index;params=balancetransfer
Click Go to Balance Transfer History and you should see it (or will soon).
Nothing shows up in the Balance Transfers section, nothing pending, and it shows $15K available to transfer. I guess I should wait a few more days to see if anything shows up and if not, just go ahead and request it again? I don't really trust that the request submitted with the application went through, because I had to call and get the application processed by customer service (forgot that I had to unlock the security freeze at Transunion).
