Re: Currently have Capital one Quicksilver One, want capital one Quicksilver. Need advice

If you already have Citi DC, what use has the new QS that is worth the triple pull? It will end up in SD just the same. If you don't want to pay the AF just close QS1, QS1 is arguable the worst offering in CapOne lineup being a dead end card extremely difficult to PC out of and practically impossible to break even on the AF, it's barely 1/2 step above Credit One NASCAR.

@Anonymous, I agree that the Quicksilver isn't really a good fit for your profile. But if you already had one, it'd be fine to keep.

It boils down to how hard you want to try to PC the QS1. You might decide it's worth using it for a small amount each month and possibly absorbing one more annual fee in the process. Or you could keep trying until the annual fee hits. Or you might say enough is enough and close it now.

I agree with what oldman says about the QS1. I wish more people would ask about it before applying. It's better to grab a Platinum (which actually does PC to a QS) or wait it out a bit and go for the QS.

Kinda shocked to hear that they've declined your request to PC to QS with no AF. Here's another suggestion, get on FB with Cap1 that chat window will open up and state your desire... I'm no means as seasoned as the other guys on here but I cringe when closing your oldest acct. even though you only had this for 3 yrs. My Cap1 is my oldest card as well Plat PC'd to QS recently... Let me guess you probably use your AMEX card the most? Smiley Wink

Surprisingly no! I use my Citi card the most since it’s 2% back. My Amex everyday is my go to for Gas tho. Sadly have to use that one way too often lol.
