DCU Pre-Approved CLI on Visa Card Question???

DCU is showing an approved increase on my Visa card from $5000 to $10,000 that I can accept.  Before I hit the accept button can anyone advise whether this pre-approval is a soft pull or hard pull. I would love the larger limit so I can balance transfer at a future date but it's not important enough to burn a hard pull at this time.

Thanks for any help.

Re: DCU Pre-Approved CLI on Visa Card Question???

I would assume its not a HP considering they've already "approved" you, however you can call or SM and see what they say. If it was me, I wouldn't care... HP's are for getting better lines and cards and that's what they are for (I know you didn't ask that).

Thanks for your response.  I am not much on calling and I tried their chat link that didn't work.  I also sent the question in email yesterday but have not received any response. They are usually quite quick in their response but not this time.

My experience with DCU is that it's always a hard pull, even pre-approvals.

This is the response I finally received from DCU:

Thank you for your secure email with regard to increase of your VISA
credit limit.  My name is XXXXX and  I am happy to assist you today.

When you see approvals in your Loan Suite in online banking when it says
"pre-approved" there is not a credit pull needed.  Simply click on the
apply link and an application is generated to the loan team. Typically
within 1 business day after accepting your offer, an email is sent to
you with a link to upload your most recent pay stub.

This answered my question.  When I accepted I had to list monthly income but they have not asked me to send any proof regarding the income thus far. A screen popped up saying Congratulations  your VISA increased from $5000 to $10,000.

I believe only require income verification on new loans, not CLI's. This looks like a combination of two different answers.

Notice they said, "when you click the apply link," when there is no apply link for preapprovals, it says, "accept"

You're probably good to go.
